It is a great honor and pleasure for me to invite you all to the 142nd German Congress of Surgery (DCK) in Munich on behalf of the DGCH.
The DCK is traditionally the highlight of our joint work in our historically important and at the same time active and youthful specialist society. Our DCK 2025 is intended to bring together as many surgeons as possible, colleagues from all interdisciplinary specialist societies, employees from all nursing professions, the German Armed Forces, students and, above all, our next generation. Of course, we look forward to continuing our excellent cooperation with the industry and our sponsors.

We cordially invite you to our 142nd Congress of the German Society of Surgery 2025 in Munich!
Many controversial topics have dominated our everyday surgical work this year. With a wide-ranging program, we would like to provide you with answers to numerous questions.
Safety and patient well-being are at the forefront of our surgical activities. That is why we are taking up this year’s motto “Safe surgery for all” in numerous sessions.
The DGAV organizes over 30 different meetings with its working groups, several of which are interdisciplinary with our neighbouring surgical fields. Important professional policy issues that threaten the existence of many hospitals are also the focus of the DCK 2025. We all see numerous shortcomings in our healthcare system and attempts to solve them, although our courage and cooperation in implementing sensible measures is certainly not lacking. This raises exciting issues, particularly in general and visceral surgery: Federal hospital reform and the NRW hospital plan, minimum volumes, outpatient treatment, digitalization and AI, comprehensive further training and the promotion of young talent, nursing and bed shortages, indication and complication management.
The DCK 2025 will start with three parallel online streams over three days, a format that has proven successful in the past. Here, important clinical and experimental research results will be communicated quickly (rapid communications), and instructive everyday cases can also be presented and discussed.
Afterwards, we will meet in presence at the International Congress Center Munich and thus maintain our important personal exchange.

On behalf of the German Society for Pediatric Surgery, I am delighted to invite you to the 142nd German Congress of Pediatric Surgery in Munich.
Medicine today is in a state of constant change and together we have to provide our patients with the best possible care under increasing economic pressure. This is certainly challenging. With the German Congress of Surgery, the German Society of Surgery creates an optimal framework for successfully holding the annual meetings of the individual specialist societies.
The motto of this year’s congress, “Safe surgery for all”, highlights the need to provide the best possible surgical treatment for vulnerable groups in our society, such as young children and adolescents. Important central topics such as global surgery and artificial intelligence will be dealt with on an interdisciplinary basis in order to shed light on all facets of these complex issues. Other key interdisciplinary topics include vascular access in children and interdisciplinary reconstructive surgery in children. In the actual pediatric surgery sessions, innovative topics such as robotics, modern oncological concepts in germ cell tumors, simulation in minimally invasive surgery, safety management and complication avoidance, new blood, research and challenges in complex congenital malformations will be discussed. For the first time, the sessions of the Pediatric Traumatology Section (SKT) will be integrated into the pediatric surgery program. This underlines the close cooperation between the individual groups in this field.
